What is it like to have over 50,000 YouTube Subscribers? How many hours in a week does it take to get to and maintain this amount?

I exceeded 50k subs many years ago, so my memory is a bit vague on this. But generally speaking these numbers are getting meaningless after a while. 50k, 500k, 2 million… it simply means lots of people.

But subscribers are notoriously unfaithful. Just the fact that someone clicked on “subscribe” does not mean he/she will now watch every video you upload. People often subscribe to hundreds of channels, no way they can really stay tuned to all of them. Every channel does have hardcore followers that really watch every video that channel releases - those are your REAL subscribers. The rest is dead weight. YouTubers must strive to have the maximum amount of REAL subscribers if they want to be successful.

Interacting with the audience is hence very important.

On YouTube, you have to stay approachable. This isn’t Hollywood, where the celebrities can hide behind huge walls in their fortress-like Beverly Hills mansions. You have to read the comments, clean up the troll’s work, maintain a good black list of “bad words” in comments, answer emails and so on. This takes plenty of time. I think I usually spend 2 hours a day, on average, working with the fan base.

Easy way increase YouTube | subscriber and watch time | 100% Money Back Guarantee

No more worries about monetization on YouTube channels. We are easily giving the first 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time

You also have to upload frequently. YouTube no longer favors individual creators, they much rather recommend Will Smith, CNN and the likes. Oftentimes they don’t even notify your subscribers about new uploads of yours. So the loyal fans check out your channel every now and then. If you don’t upload anything because you are on a six week vacation, you may find that your reach has decreased significantly. So it is a good idea to produce some videos ahead of time and release them over the course of the vacation.

If you have a lot of followers on social media, you have to keep in mind everything you do will be out there forever. You can’t take anything back. Even deleting a video won’t help as there will be copies around after just a few minutes. The fact that you try to eradicate it will only make it more interesting.

So if you have a channel that isn’t political, never publish ANY political views. There is nothing to gain, but you can lose many subs and views.

On the other hand, you have an enormous amount of power with a big reach. You can unleash veritable shitstorms, simply by telling your fans about something that annoys you and they will do the rest.
